Sonic the Hedgehog Review

(Sonic the Hedgehog for Wii) (Sonic the Hedgehog for Playstation 3)

With the Sonic series hitting an all time low with last year’s Shadow the Hedgehog I thought there was nowhere to go but up for the one time great mascot. Unfortunately I was wrong. In Sonic the Hedgehog for Playstation 3 and XBOX 360, what was supposed to be a grand return of a once great hero turns out to be the new low for the series. Sonic Team must have seriously been gutted over the last couple years as I can’t believe the same team that made the great Dreamcast games had anything to do with this clunker.

"Hopefully Silver and Shadow elope to a state where
gay hedgehog marriage is legal and we never see them again."

Do we really need this again?

While the controls have been slightly upgraded since Sonic Heroes, you’ll still be falling to your imminent death more often than not as you try to navigate the rollercoaster action stages. This happens once again for the most part because of the dated and horribly broken camera system that should have been fixed long ago. What’s even more ridiculous is that this happens not only throughout some of the stages but right near the end and right at the beginning. So it kills the fun from the start and gets you overly frustrated when you’re about to complete a level. Way to go devs!

It's a good thing there's a lot of motion blur.
