The Godfather The Game has finally made its way onto a next-gen platform and thankfully its not just a straight port. While the additions might not be enough for those whove already played through the game, theyre definitely nice incentives to those 360 owners whove held out for the best possible version of this GTA style movie hybrid. Since the game essentially is very similar to its PS2 cousin Ill point readers towards our PS2 review and just cover all the changes in this review.

One of the coolest new additions is the ability to hire a crew member. Once you hit enforcer rank you can hire an armed mobster who will follow you wherever you go. He can assist in battle, shoot out of your car while youre driving, and even guard you when things get rough. These guys are pretty spendy but theyre a fun addition to say the least. Other new things include favors which amount to lots more side missions, new main story missions, and a whole lot of minor visual improvements.

The graphics of The Godfather 360 feature a wealth of improvements including self-shadowing, facial damage, time of day shadows, new animations, and much more. There are tons more people on the street and cars driving around thanks to the 360s power as well. Not only are there more but some of the people are coordinated and executing all kinds of actions which even include robberies. While all these visual improvements are nice, the game still looks a bit washed out and low resolution due to all models and textures being pretty much direct ports. Hopefully The Godfather 2 will vastly improve upon the overall visual quality.

The 360 version also features a wealth of achievements as well as leader boards and a bit of other online tracking. There are new venues, new weapons, new warehouses, and a whopping 25 new execution styles. Theyve even gone ahead and included a new character creation system which uses the Tiger Woods GameFace technology. There are now a whopping 25 sliders which adjust your mobsters face and body. Looking at all these new features I really whish I would have waited for this one before diving into this epic adventure.
