So the real fun of the game is when you’re playing as Mario and you tap A to switch dimensions. Dead ends suddenly become open roads as you swap between a flat wall and a paper thin backdrop. This really shows off the great 2D art and kills the 3D presentation. It looks good most of the time but has its rough edges as well. The sound is about the same as you’ll hear some classic tunes but also some really rough ones.

20 hours and a ton of fun later, you may not have used the Wiimote’s special abilities, but I can assure you you’ll have been on one hell of a ride.
