Super Swing Golf Review

Witzbold gives it 91%

Now wouldn’t courses like these make the PGA more fun to watch?

In total there is over 11 courses, that vary from lush tropical islands, whimsical winter snow fields, to the hot desert sands. There is even a course built on top of a battle ship! One of my personal courses is the one called Wiz Wiz, which is made up of floating islands and towers in a misty mountain setting shown below.

This course just screams O.B.

With imaginative courses like these, its very hard to get tired of playing the game. Not to mention with all the trick shots that are possible, such as bounding a shot off of the roof of a tower, or rolling it along a frozen lake, opens up multiple ways to play a course! From my own personal experience with the online game, some of the best players use trick shots to get ahead on the courses. By experimenting you can also be awarded more pang points if your shot succeeds.

Over all I say this is an excellent golf game that gives a rather different experience from the other normal ones out there. Fans of Sony`s Minna no Golf series by all means pick this game up. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed! Great characters, original courses, loads of items, and an intuitive control system, what more could you ask for? Also one thing that was a very nice surprise is that you can get 2 free balls from the official Swing Golf Pangya Japanese website via password entry. It’s great to see the company showing appreciation to its customers with the free gift. With so much to do and unlock in Swing Golf Pangya, this is a game that’s sure to keep players busy for hours on end.

Import Friendly?

Swing Golf Panya is totally import friendly. Users can have the bare minimum to almost no Japanese language knowledge and still get by enjoying the game. Everything is pretty much straight forward and there are no odd missions that would require you to actually read anything, except for perhaps the effects of consumable items and such. Asides from that, this is a game that anyone can pick up and start enjoying right away.

Pros
  • Great artwork design in characters, items and clothing.
  • The whole fantasy feel is a nice step away from all the other realism golf games out there.
  • Each character has there own storyline in the single player mode.
  • Lots of varied courses.
  • Easy to learn controls. Swinging the remote like a golf club really gets you into the game.
Cons
  • The slope display for putting can be a little difficult to understand.
  • The putting system could have been a little more user friendly like Minna no Golf
  • AI is rather difficult at times, although not sure if this is totally a bad thing. But it causes frustration never the less.
  • At times the hit sensing for the swing seems to go off. Although I assume this is just an issue with twisting the wrist slightly on the down swing.
