Once youre off your horse and near any body of water youll have another chance at Wiimote bliss as you enter fishing mode. Theres a huge game within the game involving catching large numbers of several varieties of fish. This was obviously put in because of the Wiimotes great ability to act as a fishing rod. Think of any MMORPGs retarded fishing mode and add in Wiimote control and you have gold. I must have wasted at least 5-10 hours just fishing this week alone. Its that much fun.
How to fish, Wiimote style.
When youre fighting, going through your inventory, or picking up a new item youll feel the influences of Ocarina of Time. From the standard items, to the map, to the way you equip and use things you acquire it all feels like familiar territory. There are even bosses and sections of dungeons that I swear are exact replicas of that found in OoT. Similarities aside, TP is really eons above OoT in terms of level design and overall storytelling. Nintendo is known for incredible games with simple storylines but that will certainly all change with TP. You actually get involved with the characters and grow close to your little dark buddy Midna.
Always have to keep one eye on that crazy Midna!
When it comes to the graphics you should definitely play in 480p if you have the capability. Resolution aside, the graphics look just as they do on video and in screens youve already seen. While its nowhere near the latest XBOX 360 releases, it has a general artistic quality that is rarely seen in games, though always present in Zelda games. Sound is also extremely high quality and brings the mood set by the graphics together into one complete entity.
This is one of the most anticipated games of the year and for good reason. I hope I havent spoiled much for you and that you will pick this one up with your Wii. It truly is, in my opinion, the best and longest Zelda ever made. With nearly 70 hours of playtime committed and more still to do, I cant think of a better experience or value this holiday season.
Pros
Level design and story are next-gen
Graphics are well crafted
Wiimote and Nunchuk controls are spot-on
Its Zelda
Cons
Possible Wiimote damage when getting too into the game (just kidding)
