Conclusion
This is without a doubt the most fun DBZ game ever. Not only is it the only DBZ game that really recaptures the feel of the anime, but it is fun to play for DBZ fans and non-fans alike. The Wii controls are amazing when you get past the rough learning curve. There are 129 characters. That’s a lot. Too bad this includes transformations, making half the characters Goku (okay, just kidding…). The only “bad” point is that the graphics are exactly the same as the PS2 version, but it’s not like graphics are THAT important in games anyways. This is a great game, a must-buy for anyone who like fighting games, no matter if you're a DBZ fan or not. There are some little things i didn't cover, but i can't spoil everything in the game, right?
Pros
- 129 characters
- Awesome gameplay
- Incredible Wii-only controls
- Very long story mode (i'm scared to count the hours it took me to finish it...), which covers all of DBZ, including movies, and some parts of DBGT
- Sounds and looks exactly like a DBZ game should
- Well animated, cool special attacks
- "Feels" like a dragonball game should "feel"
- Can be played with the gamecube controller if you don’t like the Wii Remote controls
Cons
- Last-gen PS2 graphics
- All the characters play a bit too similarly
- If you want to play with the gamecube controller, you have to figure out the controls yourself as they are not displayed anywhere in-game or in the instruction booklet
