Valhalla Knights Review

Witzbold gives it 78%

The classes available to the player are broken up into 2 categories. The Normal (starting) and Advanced classes. The normal classes, consists of the following, Fighter, Mage, Thief, and Priest. The advances classes are Knight, Ankor (Can use both priest and mage spells), Samurai, Ninja and Machine (This class is only available to the machine race as stated above). To become the advanced class you need to find special items dropped from monsters in the dungeons.

When starting a new game, you will first have to create a human character, selecting from a male or female gender. Don’t worry that you are forced to use a human character. This is just the main figure of the story, and Ill get into the part about making other members in a second. Also during the character creation, your stats will change depending on the class you pick. There are 7 stats in total to pick from and when you level up you will be able to allocate bonus points to your stats. Another thing to consider is depending on the class you have selected, the bonuses acquired at leveling up will vary. For example a priest will gain Will gain magical power / magical defense bonus points faster than the fighter, who gains bonus points to their health and defense.

One thing that will help keep the game fresh is the fact that you are able to change your job at any time in the game, as long as you visit the guild house to do so. The job change system is very similar to those of you who have played FFXI. Where there is a main job class and a sub job class. But in Valhalla Knights there is also a 2nd sub job class. So it’s the Main Job + 1st sub job class + 2nd sub job class, which allows the player to make rather interesting combinations. Plus it allows you to customize your character further by leveling up all the classes which gives you more bonus points to work from, than if you had just leveled up a single class. For example a fighter with the mage as a sub-class will be able to cast mage spells, and as the 2nd sub class if they have the thief, they will get an extra bonus to gold found after battle, along with less chance of the enemy attacking them in battle.

Ok now lets talk about making new party members. To do so you need to visit the Guild Hall; which is located in the town. Inside of the Guild Hall the player is able to identify items, create new party members, accept quests, and change jobs.

No its not a new monster, its just the guild hall lady

One thing you have to watch out about when creating new members is the fact that it will cost a rather hefty amount of gold to make your first character, so choose wisely. Also with each new character made the price will rise exponentially. The process to make the new member is exactly the same as when you created your main character. Once you get that all set up its off to the dungeons for fame, fortune and a quick death if you aren’t careful.
