Monster Hunter Freedom 2 Review

SkooBoi gives it 86%

The ad-hoc mode of the game, although limited is a very fun experience if you have other people around. Teamwork is key in this mode with a successful hunt relying solely on how well you can cooperate with your mates. By having a gunner around you can shoot down a Wyvern from the skies, from there the swordsmen can run at the fallen monster and slice away. Not to mention that several more multiplayer modes are added solely for the game, leaving hours on end for you to enjoy your wi-fi battles.

Monster Hunter: Freedom really has it all. Even though it’s a port, the game has enough content for it to be an entirely new experience for anybody seeking a fright fest. The game guarantees hours upon hours of playtime with so much content to the game. It’s literally an Action-RPG with Harvest Moon elements. Not to mention the atmosphere of the game is very well created with the feeling that you actually are in a world of dinosaurs and there is a chance you will die. Have a fear of dinosaurs? Good! It’s time to overcome those fears.

Pros
  • Expanded single-player
  • Beautiful graphics didn't take a hit
  • Controls work well
  • Range of environments
Cons
  • Monster AI needs some polish
  • Lack of an Infrastructure mode
