Hey guess what guys? There are no save points, yay! Wow that was freaking stupid. Oh and you know what else? Were going to throw a bajillion enemies at you at a ridiculous rate. Nice, Ive always been a masochist, wait no I havent. Hm, I guess this one is only for those who hate themselves or like punishment or nostalgia is enough. I suppose its perfect as a 20th anniversary celebration type product but I kinda doubt it will sell based on word of mouth seeing as its quite painful to play. Dont get me wrong, the controls are spot on but the level design is just plain freaking hardcore to the bone.

The graphics are nice and all but theyre hardly anything fancy. I could seriously imagine them being on a SNES cart and not noticing a difference. The dual screen action is ok but its kind of off putting most of the time as well. It all looks like you think it should but none of it is particularly special or enticing.

My favorite part about this game is really the unlockables. You can unlock Contra for NES and SNES by completing objectives. Thankfully there is an easy mode to help with this otherwise very few would have these unlockables.

Overall if youre a fan grab it, if not get one of the other 100 A+ games coming out this holiday season.
