If you’ve been gaming for over a couple decades like me you’ll likely have seen mention of Anno 1701 on the internets or you might have even played a PC demo of the game. And if you tried the demo you probably gave it a fair chance and then went eh and went back to playing your favorite series of the moment. I really don’t understand how they can continue to make this series when all it does is flop but I guess since the DS is the new golden child they thought hey maybe it will sell. My guess is it will flop like the rest, sorry devs.


Welcome to the late 90's.
So for those not in the know, Anno 1701 is pretty much a SimCity type game set in 1701. You jump on a ship, find a nice island and start raping the land like any good citizen. While there is some fighting in the game, you’ll mostly just be managing the numbers and trying to keep your bitch ass people happy which is quite a task. When you’re in need of more land and resources you just sail around and rape and pillage some more and open trade routes with the natives. There have been tons of games like this one and it’s all very familiar territory.
