Metroid Prime Pinball (w/Rumble Pak) Review

A clear indicator to know if a company is milking a franchise is if a pinball version of the game is released. This is most certainly not the case with this game. Many would question why Nintendo has chosen to bring Samus onto a pinball table to do battle. But this is quite otherwise a very well transition for Samus to such a genre. This could rather be an indication of “superstar” status for any character that is made into a pinball game by Nintendo. Prior evidence includes Mario and Pokémon.

The most important issue you are probably wondering about is what sort of innovations is Nintendo offering up in this game. First off it just wouldn’t be right for Samus not to use her gun in a Metroid game so of course the game offers very many features that involve her shooting abilities. The game also includes many familiar bosses and levels that are directly related to Metroid Prime.

It was certainly a wise decision for creating a pinball game of this caliber for the Nintendo DS. Not only is the aspect-ratio problem is solved, but the game is the first to include the use of the new Rumble Pak. What better way than to have another pinball game introducing the rumble feature for a handheld? Pinball games have always been an addiction whether you are good at them or not, it is quite evident that Metroid Prime Pinball offers much to the table and raises the stakes for the genre just a little bit higher.

I bet you once had fond memories of this fellow.
