In previous games, you were pretty much guaranteed to find some sort of contradiction in testimonies but not so in GS4. As part of the new “Minuku (See Through) System", you now not only have to pay attention to the text but also your witnesses’ body language too to find contradictions. There’s finally another use for all those poses!

Here’s 15 year old, Minuki. Now who could she be?
The way this new system works is, once you come across a paragraph where you think the witness is lying you activate “Minuku” mode by tapping on Odoroki’s gold bracelet. The bracelet then changes to an eye on the bottom screen and you are zoomed in on the witness. After that, you must find a tell tale sign that the witness is hiding something such as seeing them scratching their necks or fiddling with their fingers. They don’t do this for the entire paragraph of text, though. Each word appears slowly onto the screen and you can only see your witnesses feeling uneasy when the keywords appear. For example, a witness might have something to hide about the hospital but they mention nothing about it so in Minuku mode, you’ll find them fidgeting when the keywords “at the hospital” are appearing.
It’s a fun new mini game that has no penalties unlike the Psyche-Lock system. You can try to spot these tell tale body signs as many times as you want and that might have been a good decision since it’s not easy. You have to be looking at the right part of the witness at the right time! You can’t really see the tell tale signs until you actually enter Minuku mode although the pose the witnesses are in gives you a fair idea when to use the mode.

The Minuku System means reading body language like this.
As for presentation, you can expect quite a few remixes of past GS soundtracks although there are of course new theme songs for the new cast of characters such as the rock tune for Odoroki’s rival, Kyouya Garyuu. There is also a creepy tune with a supernatural kind of mood to it, playing as you use the Minuku mode and see the witness enveloped in a swirl of colours. Backgrounds remain highly detailed for you to pick up evidence.
