The Rub Rabbits! Review

Where do babies come from? That’s the big question Sega seems to have been asking as Sonic Team created the sequel to the sleeper hit Feel The Magic XX/XY. And while it didn’t fair all that well in the press there was fun to be had, but does that fun carry over to the sequel “Aka Chan wa Dokokara-Kurono?”

The game starts out with a boy who sees a pretty girl on an escalator. After a short slide show scene a mini game presents itself. Once you beat the mini game another piece of the story unravels and another mini game appears and so on and so forth. While this was an extremely fun and engaging idea in Wario Ware it doesn’t seem to hold up in this form.

First of all the mini-games are much longer than Wario’s. Second, about thirty percent of them are frustrating because of gameplay issues and or glitches. Third, most of the games aren’t all that exciting or engaging. But if you enjoy this kind of gameplay and are willing to push through all the horrible parts of this game then you’ll find several special mini-games that might just leave you with fond memories.
