Synopsis
Withdrawing from the bank account of a newly established IT company without authorization, modifying the Karte data of a major hospital using a computer virus, hacking into an airport control tower's system to hijack a passenger aircraft... All these acts are IT crimes. You play as the newly employed investigator Satoru Amatsubo to help the international organisation "GIS" to stop such IT crimes.

Satoru Amatsubo
The protagonist of our story. Satoru is an university student who is talented with computers. One day his childhood friend Rina gets caught up in a certain incident and he is forced to help her. After the GIS found out he had the skills to hack into the government computers, they decided to scout him out.
Rina Kokubo
Satoru's childhood friend. Full of curiosity, Rina is always the first to take action. Due to her charming personality, she gets along with people easily and manage to cheer any mood up. She isn't very good at staying idle.
Misutzu Sekushi*
The beautiful head chief of GIS Japan. She can stay calm in any situation and make precise judgements. This has earn her the trust of all her subordinates.
*Note that the site has her name romanized as "Misuzu" but, I decided to stick with "Misutzu" due to the difference in pronounciation between the Kana for ず and づ.
Valdes
Misutzu's SP (bodyguard). As a member of GIS, he is surprisingly not good with computers. However, his physical strength and fighting skills more than makes up for it.
Kei Minami
A senior high school girl who works in the GIS's analysis department as a part-time job. Her skills in writing programs and analysis is top class.
Toshiki Ookouchi
An inspector from the local police headquarters. He is not very good with computers and can barely just send and receive e-mail. Ookouchi is easily stirred up and therefore, gets easily taken advantage of.

Mystery Woman:
Well... I've been looking at the list of candidates to increase our force but...
Doesn't look there's anyone suitable.
Mystery Man:

Mystery Woman:
I want someone young who has the skill to help increase our effectiveness but... Looks like one won't be easy to find.
Mystery Man:
Well, there's no need to rush. Just take your time.
Something just arrived for us by the way, boss. Will you take a look at it?
Mystery Woman:
Oh? What is it?
Mystery Man:
It's a report of the suspect man you asked about who may have been the one who was responsible for that daring act last week.
I'm sure you mentioned that he accessed a government server without authorization...
Mystery Woman:
Yes, that's right...

It seems he hasn't modified any information or accessed any classified information. All he done was access the server without authorization.

So do you really think this guy is "him"? He's only an university student.
Mystery Woman:
Well... It's too bad but, it seems he isn't "him".
But this kid's hacking skills is pretty good.
...Right, it's decided. Lets scout him out and get him to join us.
Mystery Man:

Mystery Woman:

- Check the bed (床) to find a memo pad. The phone will ring afterwards.
Satoru: Who could it be at his hour...? It's Rina. ...I should ignore it. Everytime she calls, nothing good ever happens.
- Check the bookcase (本棚) and the phone will ring again.
- Check the last item, the TV and the phone will ring again. Guess who.
Rina: Hey, Yuuko! About tomorrow...
Satoru: ...Rina! Is this all your doing?!
Rina: Huh?! ...What's wrong, Yuuko? Your voice sounds so much like Satoru's.
Satoru: Stop acting dumb! You've been ringing my phone so many times now!
Rina: Ju- Just a second. I never phoned you... Ah, I know! My phone's messed up again.
Satoru: Who cares about your phone! Are you the one who messed up my apartment?
Rina: What- What are you on about, Satoru? What's this about your apartment being messed up?
Satoru: What do I mean? I thought you're the one responsible for this.
Rina: Hey, calm down! You don't sound like yourself! What on earth happened?
Satoru: I don't know... I don't have a clue what's happened.
Rina: Haa, never mind! Come over to the family restaurant we always go to! You can tell me all about it there, OK?
Satoru: ...OK. The usual family restaurant right?
Rina: Yeah, that's it. See you then. Hangs up.
Satoru: .... (So it wasn't Rina... So did a thief really get in here?) Two men barges in. (Wh- Who?!)
MIB A: You must be Amatsubo Satoru! Hand over what you "stole"!
Satoru: What I stole...?! (What is he on about? I don't remember stealing anything...)
- Choose "Who are you?" (あんた達、何者？)
MIB A: Forget it! Moves forward to hit Satoru.
Satoru: (Uh-oh! They're going to beat me up!)
MIB A: The CD-R you stole! Hand it over now or you're going through some serious pain.
Satoru: ...I don't remember stealing any CD-R. Gets hit again.
MIB A: Listen, kid... The next hit will kill you!!
- Inspect the MIBs and they'll start arguing with each other. Check again then select move to run away.
Satoru: (Now's my chance!!)
MIB A: Hey, kid!! Don't you dare try pulling a fast one on us! We'll kill you! Out in the streets. Stop, kid!
- Select move again and Satoru will run to the Central Park.
Satoru: Haa... Haa...
MIB A: Where did that damn kid go!
Satoru: (Damn it... When will they give up?!) (I'll just have to hide myself somewhere.) (I'll hide at that bench!) ....
MIB B: Damn. We lost him...
MIB A: Go check the other areas!
Satoru: .... (Should be alright now.) (They've gone off somewhere else so I should be safe for now.)
- Inspect the area and the phone will ring again.
Rina: Hello, Satoru! Whare are you now?
Satoru: Well, I'm actually-
Rina: I don't want to hear excuses. Just hurry here! How long are you going to keep me waiting! I'm not going to stay here for much longer! Hangs up.
Satoru: (....Why does she always hang up without listening like that.) (But Rina has always been one-sided.) (...Lets just head to the restaurant for now.) (A crowded place should be safer than being here.)
- Head on over to the family restaurant (ファミレス).
???: Hey, Satoru! How long were you going to keep me waiting for!
Satoru: Rina...
Rina: ...Satoru?! You look terrible! Why are you covered in bruises...? What's happened? Come on, tell me. Sits down and orders food.
- Speak to her about the only topic, the bruises.
Satoru: These bruises... someone hit me.
Rina: What?! ...Who hit you?
Satoru: Two men in black suits wearing sun glasses. I don't know why but, they just suddenly barged into my apartment and kept hitting me. They said things like "You're going through some serious pain!" and "We'll kill you!". I thought I was dead...
Rina: No way~! You'll have to make better jokes than that! You said "my apartment's all messed up" on the phone... You must be joking with me here.
Satoru: ....

Satoru: You're talking about "crackers"! Let me explain... A "hacker" is someone who is highly skilled and passionate about everything. They try to learn about things and then try to improve them. As for "crackers", they use their great skill for crimes...
Rina: Ah~ Forget about it! Too hard for me to understand! Anyway... You hack into servers without permission quite a lot, don't you?
Satoru: Yeah but... I don't change any data or steal anything.
Rina: If the police finds out, do you think they'll act the same way as you do?
Satoru: I don't know... But I'm sure the police won't find out.
Rina: You don't know that! Wait... Maybe those two men were police!
Satoru: They couldn't have been... But if they were, that means I'll get arrested.
Rina: Think back. What did those men in black say to you?

Satoru: They were saying something about, "Hand over what you stole"... Yeah... They said something about, "Hand over the CD-R you stole"!
Rina: CD...? Ah!! ...I remember now!
- Speak to her about the only topic, what she remembers.
Satoru: Rina... What do you remember?
Rina: While I was walking along the rotary outside the station this weekend, a shaggy haired man bumped into me... Flashback. Then everything fell out of his bag.
???: Stupid girl...
Rina: So I said to him, "let me help you pick your stuff up." But for some strange reason, he rushed off without saying thanks. Back in the restaurant. He left an envelope behind but I couldn't give it back to him.
Satoru: ....
- Ask about the next topic, the envelope.
Rina: No, you see... The envelope didn't have an address or phone number written on it. So I looked inside... There was a CD but nothing else. It was the only way I could find out where the man was so... I used your PC to check what was on the CD.
Satoru: What?! You used my PC?!
Rina: I couldn't help it. I don't have a PC of my own... Anyway, so I put in the CD and pushed the enter key or something... Then something like an instruction book appeared on the screen. I have no idea what it was.

Rina: Hmmm... It had something like, "If you use this, you can create a network interference."
Satoru: "Network interference"?! ...Could it be a computer virus or something?

Rina: Well... Since whoever wrote that e-mail was so threatening, I wrote this. "If you want the CD back, pay the following amount of money in the designated account."

Rina: No reply came back so I forgot about it all, thinking it was a joke... But now that men in black really came to your place, that e-mail was real, wasn't it.
Satoru: ...So what happened to the CD-R?
Rina: Don't worry about it. It's in my apartment.
Satoru: Well then, I'm taking that CD and then...
- Going to the police (警察に行く)
Rina: Yeah... They gave you a pretty bad beating so if we leave it like this, you could be in danger.
Satoru: We can't do anything until we get that CD. Lets go get it from your apartment first.
Rina: OK, got it.
- Head to Rina's apartment (リナの部屋).
Satoru: Woah! What happened here?! Your apartment's been ransacked like mine!!
Rina: What? How?! It's not that messy. This is what it's usually like!
Satoru: ....
Rina: Lets see... the CD... Oops, I forgot where I put it. Help me find it, Satoru!
- Look at the pile of small things (小物の中) to find the CD-R.
Satoru: Maybe it's in this pile of things... Hey! This thing's my...
Rina: What is it? Did you find the CD?!
Satoru: This thing belongs to my Captain Paper!
Rina: .... I thought I lost that.
Satoru: .... Your apartment's pretty messy you know.
Rina: It can't be helped. I'm a girl living alone you know! Ah, here it is! I found the CD! It was hidden underneath the table.
Satoru: How can you put something that important there... Doorbell rings.
Rina: Who could it be at this hour...? Who is- The two black suited men force their way in. Kyaaaa!
Satoru: Rina?!
MIB A: Be good and hand over the CD-R kids!!
Rina: Who- Who are you people?!
MIB A: Stop talking and hand over the CD-R now!

Satoru: (Rina, where's the CD?)
Rina: (Don't worry, I have it.)

MIB A: Why you!! Hand it over!!
Satoru: Here you go! Get it!!
MIB A: The CD-R! What are you doing-
Satoru: Now! Run! Running away. ...Looks like they didn't come after us.
Rina: Come on, lets get away before they catch up!
Satoru: Yeah, we have to- An explosion is heard.
Rina: They can't be serious... They blew up my apartment!! ...This is horrible! What's going on?!
Satoru: Come on, Rina! Lets just get out of here for now!
Rina: But- But my apartment...!
Satoru: (We'll have to go to the police now. There's no other choice...) Family restaurant.
Rina: Haa... I'm beat~... It's morning already and I'm starving. I can't believe that being questioned by the police can be so tiring... It's so different from TV.
Satoru: Yeah... You're right.
Rina: Don't they usually give us some pork rice to eat while questioning us? That happens a lot in dramas.

Satoru: And what did the inspector say?
Rina: He was horrible! No matter what I said, he just insists that, "nothing like that would ever happen in real life". Or, "must have been a gas leak" and "you actually made the bomb yourself, didn't you?"... He just wouldn't believe what I said! Just thinking about it gets me all worked up! This is all those two black suited men's fault!!

Satoru: Those black suited men were after us, no doubt about it.
Rina: Who the hell are they! Don't they think they're going to far by bombing my apartment?! Now I have nowhere to live. All my clothes, snacks lost... Everything's lost... I'm soooo mad at them!! It's all that CD's fault!!
- Ask about the CD-R
Satoru: Rina, did you tell the inspector about the CD-R?
Rina: I did!! I told him about how it could be a virus and about the network interference... But it seems useless just to tell them about it. They say they can't help if we don't have any evidence.
Satoru: I see... So we can't really rely on the police for help.
Rina: Lets sort out those two black suited men ourselves, then! I just can't get over what they done like this!!
Satoru: So you say but... We don't know who we're up against and where they are.
Rina: Hmmm... I'm sure they left us a clue. Ah, I know! Didn't they say something to us, earlier? That big man said something like, "who are you working for?"
Satoru: ....
- The men thought they were from Kopet (コペットの人間).
Rina: That's it! I was wondering why they mentioned the mobile phone's company name.
Satoru: Copet Mobiles huh...
Rina: My mobile's a Copet. Their network hasn't been working very well lately. Pretty troublesome. Yesterday I tried calling Yuuko but it ended up connecting to you, remember? They mentioned something about some network interference. At this rate, the company might go bankrupt... Wait a sec!
Satoru: Do- Don't shout out suddenly like that...
Rina: Hey, do you remember the name of the novel you lent me?
Satoru: Why ask that all of a sudden?
Rina: Just answer me. What was it again... Ahhh, I just can't put my finger on it!
Satoru: (Hmmm... What did I lend her again...?)
- Select the last title, Code Breakers.
Rina: Yes, that's it!! That novel's about a talented hacker challenging a large company. The main character found out about a large IT company's plans to sabotage a rival company, And so, using his computer, he tries to divulge their crimes. I understand now. All of this is just like the novel!
Satoru: How is it the same...?
Rina: Look, you told me that CD has a virus that can cause a network interference, right?
Satoru: So you're saying...
- The first topic, they're trying to sabotage a rival company.
Rina: Yes! Exactly the same as the novel, no? In the case of Copet Mobiles, their rival would be HAT Mobiles! HAT's been redesigning their products a lot trying to beat Copet.
Satoru: So those men could be from HAT huh...
Rina: Come on, Satoru. Lets find out a little about HAT! We might be able to find out something about those two men.
Satoru: ....
Rina: They blew up my apartment. I just can't get over it like this... Please, help me!!
- Help her (協力する).
Satoru: OK, I'll help you. We'll reveal their crimes together.
Rina: That's the Satoru I know!! Now that we've decided, lets get going! We can't just sit around here!! Runs off.
Satoru: He- Hey wait, Rina! You don't have to rush off like that... Central Park
Rina: Well then, Satoru. Lets find out about HAT! You have any good ideas how we can do that?
Satoru: What...?! Don't tell me you never thought about that first.
Rina: I'm bad at thinking... This is where the brainy you comes in.
Satoru: ....
Rina: Come on, you're good at finding out things on internet, right?
Satoru: Yeah... I'm kind of worried whether my computer's been broken or not but, I guess this is all I can do for now.
Rina: Well, lets do it!
- Off to Satoru's apartment (サトルの部屋).
Rina: We'll be big trouble if those men come back so, I'll keep watch by the door.
- Inspect the PC (パソコン).
Satoru: (Right, lets see if it still works.) Tries turning it on. (...It's no good.) It's not working, Rina. It's completely broken...
Rina: What!! ...Then we can't use it.
Satoru: Yeah, I can't get it to startup...
Rina: Don't you have another computer?
Satoru: Of course, I don't. I had to take out a loan for this...
Rina: Then I guess we'll have to give up finding out about HAT on the internet...
Satoru: No, don't worry. We can use the PCs in the net cafe. But is there one around here, I wonder?
Rina: Right, lets try finding one!
Satoru: Yeah. Lets have a look around the rotary near the station.
- Move to the rotary, (駅前ロータリー)
Rina: The station's really changed lately. There's all these new buildings and the rotary's been expanded. Even the arcade has new shops. It's all so convenient!
- Check the buildings (駅ビール) and Rina will get Satoru to ask someone where the cafe is. The passerby will say there's one in the shopping arcade (アーケード街).
Satoru: (Not many people in the shopping arcade...)
Rina: Ah, I found the internet cafe! See the big sign?
Satoru: Right, lets go check it out.
- Go to the net cafe (インターネットカフェ).
Rina: Wow~ This is the first time I've been in a net cafe... This place is decorated really well. Right, lets find out about HAT Mobiles now!
- Inspect one of the PCs (パソコン) and there will be a tutorial about using the game's "internet". Select the second option to skip it. On the homepage, tap the link next to the computer icon. Use your stylus to slide the page down and then tap the HAT Mobiles link. Scroll to the bottom and tap on the pink research link (研究開発). Rina's icon will appear. Tap on it and she'll recognize the man there, Aoyama the research and development director.
- Now tap the next pink link to find a map of where the company is. Tap Rina's icon again and she'll notice it, suggesting you go find the Aoyama guy. Exit the browser and choose to move. You'll go to the building automatically.
Rina: So this is HAT huh. Just what you'd expect from a big mobile phone company. The building's amazing... So Satoru. What do we do now...?
Satoru: What do you mean "what do we do now?" You're the one that said we come here.
Rina: I did but, it's night time now... That Aoyama might have gone home now.
Satoru: ....
- Speak to Rina and a car with arrive. Aoyama and the two black suited men appears. Satoru and Rina hides, overhearing their conversation. Aoyama shouts at the men for not killing the two off. He's afraid they copied the data from the CD.
- After they drive off, Rina panicks suggesting they go to the police and tell them everything about the CD. But without proof it's pointless. Satoru suggests they get their hands on some proof first. Select original data (オリジナルデータ) when prompted.
Satoru: The original data on Aoyama's PC. He said they'll be in trouble if the police gets a hold of it so, that data must be the same as what was on that CD-R.
Rina: I see! They said something like that, didn't they?
Satoru: Now that Aoyama and his men's away, we don't have to worry about them seeing us in the building. We'll have to try and get a hold of that data now.
Rina: So we're sneaking in.
Satoru: We'll have to if we want the police to believe us...
- Try going in the building and Rina will say searching the entire building will take too long. She asks if you remember which division Aoyama belongs to. Select the research and development department (研究開発本部).
- Inside, Rina will be amazed at the interior too. Check the elevator (エレベーター) and Rina will find it doesn't work. It's auto-locked with a passcode. Someone comes along and they see him entering a 4 digit number. At first, Rina suggests they have to guess it but Satoru thinks it'll have to be a number that's important to the company. They might find it on the net.
- Just go to the next part if you don't want to find the code on the company site yourself. If you really want to go back to the cafe to find out the code, go outside, go to the station rotary (駅前ロータリー) then the net cafe (インターネットカフェ). On the homepage, you'll find the president's birthday, October 29th (10/29).
- Check the elevator and enter "1029" then tap open.
Rina: Woohoo! The elevator's working!
Satoru: Lets get to the research offices then! Enters the elevator.
Mystery Man: .... Boss, they've gone in.
Mystery Woman: Oh, interesting! Keep watching them.
Mystery Man: Understood... I'll continue trailing them. Inside the office.
Satoru: So this is the Research & Development Department floor huh. Looks like it's divided into 3 floors.
Rina: There's the Network Research Section... The System Design Section... And the Development Planning Section we're on now.
Satoru: Quite a big place... We'll have to find Aoyama's PC around here somewhere.
- Go to the System Design Section (システム設計課) and check the right hand door (右手のドア). It has the executive's office (本部長室) written on it. Go inside.

Satoru: I wonder if this apartment was designed with chess in mind.
Rina: Maybe.
Rina: Hey look, Satoru! There's a PC on the desk!

- Check Aoyama's PC (青山のパソコン) to start it up and you'll find it needs a password. Satoru explains to Rina how people use passwords to protect their data and that they're harder to find out because they're made of alphabetical letters.
- If you look about the apartment and check the table, you'll find a lighter in the shape of a knight. If you then go to the Network Research Section (ネットワーク研究課) and check the PC nearby (手前のデスク), Satoru will take it out of sleep mode and be able to use the net. Visit Aoyama's page again and click on the orange link to go to a chess page. Rina's icon will appear and she'll say Aoyama really likes chess.
- Use Aoyama's PC again and then tap the "K" key. Then tap the Japanese key next to the enter key to get lower case letters to enter "night".
Satoru: Alright! The password's broken!
Rina: That's the Satoru I know!
Satoru: Piece of cake!
Rina: Come on, hurry up and get the original data!
Satoru: I'm looking for it. .... There is it! This should be it. So the original data's split into 4 files... Rina, can you find any media that I can copy this data onto?

- Check the apartment again and Satoru will hear someone unlocking the door. It's Rina.
Rina: Tada~! Sorry I kept you waiting!! Hold on. I'll untie you.
Satoru: Rina.... What are you doing here?
Rina: We'll talk about that later. Lets get out of here now!

Outside the HAT Mobiles building. ...Huh? Isn't this the HAT building? ...So they locked me up inside HAT all this time...

Satoru: Yeah?
Rina: Then what if I told him I'm "Aoyama's daughter"? Maybe he'll lend us a key then.

- Go into Aoyama's apartment (青山の部屋) and you'll find more chess decorations. Check the door to the back (奥のドア) then go into the apartment.
- Check inside the computer (パソコン) first and Satoru will want to make sure they have some media to backup the data onto first. If you check the bin (ゴミ箱), you'll find a piece of ripped paper saying "...mate". And if you check the bookshelves (本棚), you'll find volume 1 of the chess books missing.
- Go back into the living apartment and check the table (テーブル). Volume 1 of the chess book is there saying that you need to say "checkmate" when you surround your opponent. Now check the CD cases (収納ケース) to find an unused CD.
- Return into the other apartment and use the PC (パソコン). A password prompt appears and Satoru will try the password they used at the office. It doesn't work. Enter "C" then tap the lowercase key next to the enter key and enter "heckmate" to login.
- Just as Satoru's about to copy the data over, an alarm sounds. A hacker from outside is trying to erase all the data. Satoru finds a protection program on the PC and sets it up until he copies all the files over. All you have to do is either destroy or keep the rotating shapes away until each file is copied. To destroy them, you must tap the dark shaded side and to push them back, just tap one of the lighter sides. It can't get pretty hectic eventually.
Satoru: Alright! I've copied all the data over!
Rina: We done it, Satoru. Now the police will have to believe us!
Satoru: Yup, it's checkmate!
Rina: ...What the. Are you being affected by his obsession?
Satoru: .... Something beeps
Rina: Huh? Look at the screen... There's a message there.
Satoru: A message? It's not from Aoyama is it? "Good Job, 'Blitz'"

- Now check the surveillance system (監視システム) and Misutzu will explain it's used to monitor for any unauthorized access on networks. Now check the other two things, the main screen and the sub screens. Satoru really envies Misutzu being able to work in such a place everyday but, little did he know that he was being allowed to join the GIS. Hearing Misutzu's invitation, Rina wants to join too. Misutzu wasn't planning on that happening but she'll let Rina be Satoru's partner if Satoru lets her, since Satoru seems to work better with her around according to Valdes. Rina jumps with joy and reminds Satoru that he promised her that he'll do whatever she says back at Aoyama's apartment. Misutzu also warns Satoru that she knows he hacked into a government server earlier and that she'll have to arrest him if he refuses to join. Now you have to let her join (入る) or no (入らない). Let her join. You have to even if you try to say no anyway.

- Ask Ookouchi about the PDA and he'll tell you some important person left it behind. The data in it could prove very important. Talk to him about who this important person is, the new topic. He won't tell you the classified information. Now ask Misutzu why she called Satoru and Rina over, the new topic.
- Obviously she wants Satoru to salvage the PDA. It turns out to be their very first GIS assignment. At first, Ookouchi doesn't like the idea of leaving it in the hands of children but, since Misutzu recommends them, he makes no complaints. He walks off and Satoru either thinks the inspector has a bad attitude (態度が悪い) or friendly (親しみやすい). I chose he has a bad attitude. Misutzu explains GIS is still fairly new so many still don't trust them. Despite that, she tells Satoru to fulfill his job and that'll help build up their reputation. For now, he can stop trying to find Blitz.
- Go visit the analysis room (解析室) to sort out the PDA.

Satoru: Yes, I'm from the investigations department, Amatsubo. Pleased to meet you.
???: I'm from the analysis department, Muramoto Shin. Please to meet you too. So how can I help?
- Tell him about salvaging the PDA.

- Go back to the head office (本部長室) to give the laptop to Misutzu. She'll ask Satoru if he's curious about it (気になる) or not (気にならない). I chose curious and Misutzu explains that it's a prototype model the people are testing in the GIS. Only top class members get the few that are available. But since she won't have much chance to use it, she gives it to Satoru and Rina, saying that she considers them top class dispite just joining the team. It can connect to the net via wireless, exchange e-mail with other GIS members and has your usual memo pad.
- Head back to the analysis room (解析室) and check the machines. Muramoto will come over.
Rina: Hey, there's Muramoto-san! Muramoto-san!

Rina: Muramoto-san, we've delivered the the PC to Misutzu-san. Well, we did but, it became ours in the end.

Muramoto: ...Well, I'm having a little trouble with it.

Muramoto: Yeah, she's the best in the analysis department. If she was here, she would be able to recover the data in no time.

Muramoto: Hmmm... Not really sure. But you should be able to contact her by e-mail using that GIS computer. Why not try asking her directly?
Rina: ...So that means Minami-san's a top class member too then.

Satoru: All right.
Muramoto: Well, I have to get started on another task. Excuse me.
Satoru: (...This is going to be more troublesome than I thought.)
- Go to the training room (トレーニングルーム) to find Valdes. Ask him for Minami's mail address and he'll tell you that you can only use it with the GIS laptop. Satoru tells Valdes he has one so he gets both Minami and Valdes's mail address. He'll ask if you want to know how to use the e-mail system. Select the bottom answer to skip it.
- Go into your PC and use the Mail function. Select the bottom option to send mail. Select Kei's address and then send it (送信する). A reply will come back immediately. She asks them to meet her at a restaurant called, "Crayon", the place Satoru and Rina goes to all the time. Before you go, Valdes will tell them that they have to exit GIS from the main room.
- Go to the GIS main room then, go outside (外に出る). A man will approach the two.

Rina: I'm not going to tell you my phone number and I'm not going to tell you my address either. Lets go, Satoru!
Easy-going Man: Hey wait... I just wanted to ask about the new building that was constructed here recently.
Rina: Phew, you surprised me. I thought you were trying to pick up girls.
Satoru: ...Right. He's was just going to ask about one of the buildings around-
Rina: What was that? Are you saying I'm not worth any guy's time? He was going to try and chat me up, I'm sure of it.
Satoru: (Lets leave it at that.)
- Head to the restaurant (ファミレス)
Rina: Hey look, Satoru! There's so many people... Ha... Now we don't have a hideout.
Satoru: Nevermind that. More importantly, we can't tell who's Minami-san... We should have asked what she looked like.
Rina: Don't worry. All we have to do is go around and ask everyone. Right then, I'll wait for you here.

- Speak to everyone in the restaurant. One of them will be a highschool girl reading a book (本を読む女高生). She'll ask Satoru how to pronounce the Kanji 南瓜 for Japanese pumpkin. - Go into the GIS computer and use the web browser. Tap entertainment (娯楽) and find Maas Publishing (マーズ出版), the 5th item on the list. Click on the blue link to find a map. Tap on Rina's icon and she'll notice you have to go there from the station rotary.
- Go to the station rotary (駅前ロータリー) for an event.
Satoru: Looks like they're fund-raising.
Rina: I want to fund raise too. My house and all my snacks have been blown away after all. I know, Satoru. Why don't you make a donation to me? Please donate some money to poor little me!
Satoru: (Now she's talking nonsense.)
- Go to Maas Publishing (マーズ出版).
???: Who are you two? You can't just come in like this.
Rina: Ah, do you work here~?
???: Yes, I'm the editor, Tomari Nozomu.
Rina: Well, actually we-
Editor: "Excuse me, Tomari-san. Could you give me the script for the next issue of Gyoten King please?"

- Ask about the UFO picture (UFO写真について) in the magazine. Tomari won't know which picture Satoru's talking about since he gets so many UFO pictures.
- Show him the magazine and he'll recognize the photo. They blurred it on purpose because it was special material from their own company and they didn't want anyone to know where it was taken. Rina will ask him for the clear, original photo but Tomari refuses to hand it to anyone outside the company. Rina starts putting on an act again, saying that her sister is a big fan of Gyoten King.
Satoru: Tomari-san, could you please give us a copy of the original photo?
Tomari: I'm afraid that's impossible... I can't give it to anyone outside the company.
Rina: Well, to be honest... My sister has caught a disease and she can't get out of bed... But she said she would feel much better if she could see a clear photo of the UFO... So please, give us a copy of the UFO picture! We really need it!!
Tomari: ...No, I can't. I'm sorry for your ill sister but, she will just have to give up.
Rina: Ugh... Then how about this! Shows her GIS ID.
Satoru: Hey, Rina. What are you doing showing your ID-

- Ask Rina what they should do and she'll ask Satoru to get the photo from Tomari's PC while she distracts everyone.
Rina: "Wha... What is that?! Look outside! There's a strange object in the sky!!"

- Use Tomari's PC (渡真利のパソコン) and find out it needs a password. If you look around the room, you'll see that Tomari has an Akashiro bowling trophy next to his PC. If you go check the net and go to, area information (地域情報) to find Akashiro Bowl (アカシロボウル) under entertainment establishments (娯楽施設), you can find out more about the trophy on the homepage. Tap the first button to go to the news section and scroll down to find the rankings. There's a few English player nicknames there, one of them must be Tomari's.
- Enter the password "Littlegray" tapping the key with Japanese characters for lowercase again. Satoru browses through the PC to find the photos and finds blurred one. But just as he started to look for the original clear version, Rina interrupts him to warn about the staff coming back. Satoru then grabs a nearby cable to transfer what he found over to the GIS laptop just before the staff comes back. Rina apologizes and says goodbye. Leave the office.
- Outside, Rina wants to discuss what to do about the photo somewhere quiet. Anywhere but GIS so, go to Central Park (センターパーク)
Satoru: Hey, Rina. Think this place is good enough to discuss it? No one's here and it's quiet... Oh wait!
Rina: So... Satoru. Any good ideas you can tell me?
Satoru: ....
- Fix up the photo (写真を加工する) or take a picture of a real UFO (本物を撮る). I chose fix.
Rina: Hmmm, that's a good idea! Lets go with that!
Satoru: Well then, lets get started and-
Rina: Well, stay here and do a good job of it.
Satoru: "Stay here"...? Where you going?
Rina: I thought it will take some time so, I'm going to get some snacks... Runs off.
Satoru: Man, that Rina... (Well then, lets try using a sharpening tool and run it over the blurred areas...)
- Start by running your stylus at the top-left corner of the photo to sharpen the UFO part of the picture. Once you've uncovered the UFO and the string hanging above it, the whole photo will be sharpened automatically.
Rina: I'm back~ So have you fixed up the UFO photo for Kei-chan?
Satoru: Yeah, it's done.
Rina: Well then, lets go give it to Kei-chan! At the GIS building. Hey, Kei-chan! We got the UFO photo you wanted.
Kei: Really?! Show it to me, please.
- Show Kei the photo file.
Satoru: Here you go, Kei-chan. The photo you wanted.
Kei: Huh?! This photos so clear... It feels like it's been modified-
Rina: Er.... Ke- Kei-chan!!
Kei: Ye- Yes?!
Rina: Look at this photo too. It's a real cool picture of an alien! Shows her the picture of Ookouchi. Tada!!
Satoru: (When did you have that picture on you?)
Rina: (I went to process the pictures I took when I went to go buy some snacks.)
Kei: ...The alien looks so human.
Rina: Cool, isn't it! There's aliens that look exactly like us humans!
Kei: Thank you very much. Here's the recovery program I promised.
Rina: What?! You've... finished it already?
Kei: I was bored during class so I made it while I was taking notes.
Rina: You made it while taking notes... Satoru. Is that easy to make a recovery program?
Satoru: No, I don't think it's something that you can done in an instant...
Rina: Well, nevermind. Now we can get Muramoto-san to recover the data we need.
Satoru: So that means... All we have to do is wait for the data to get salvaged.
Kei: Excuse me but, I want to do it instead to thank you for showing that alien picture to me. Just a moment. It'll be done in no time.
Satoru: This is great, Rina. Now you'll have your first task completed!
Rina: Yup. Thanks!
Kei: Sorry for the wait. I've finished salvaging the PDA data.
- Speak to Kei about the data and she'll tell you that she found a message. Whoever wrote it said that he's found out something and has hidden the results in several places. There's also some text data along with what appears to be a map broken into pieces. Rina doesn't get what she's on about but, Satoru wonders if it's some sort of code (何かの暗号) or just corrupted data (壊れてる).
- Choose code and Kei will agree. She then hands over a key shaped "disk" with the recovered data over to Satoru before popping on her glasses to analyse UFO sightings... Rina is very curious about what the data's about. Go to the head office (本部長室).
Satoru: Huh? Misutzu-san isn't here... Where could she be? And we came to deliver the recovered data as well.
Rina: Hey, Satoru. Why don't we try and decipher the data since we have the chance?
Satoru: Why? All we had to do was recover the data and give it to Misutzu-san.
Rina: If we can decipher it then, Misutzu-san will recognise us really talented people.
- You can choose to agree (同意する) or disagree (反対する). Both will end up having to decipher it but, I chose disagree. Rina will say Satoru has no guts and that he'll never be outstanding but, she tells him she'll take responsibility and convinces him.
- Once in the investigations office, use the key shaped media and they'll see the message Kei mentioned. "There are lookouts wherever I go. I'm sure he's noticed me. I shouldn't be too far from my goal... I've hidden everything I've found out in the place I've marked on the map... Senior High School top-right, Shrine bottom-right, Post Office top-left, Primary School bottom-left. Put the map together and go to the X spot "102"."
- So a bit of puzzle solving. If you check the net again, go to personal sites (個人サイト) then scroll to the very bottom of the first list to find map symbols (地図記号のいろいろ) Click it then scroll to the bottom to find building symbols (建物記号いろいろ). Tapping the link will list the symbols you need to know.
- Now put the puzzle together as shown above. Satoru suggests they go check for Misutzu again but Rina still won't be satisfied and continues wondering what 102 means.
- Go visit the head office (本部長室) and Misutzu will be in. She reminds them that the report they're about to give is very important so they have to be careful it's accurate. Speak to her to report.
Satoru: So here's our report. We handed over the PDA to be salvaged by Muramoto-san in the analysis department. But part of the data could not be recovered.
Misutzu: And why was that? Explain.
- Data was corrupted (データが壊れていた) or, the analysis machine was broken (解析機がこわれていた). Data corrupted.
Satoru: The data was corrupted so part of it couldn't be extracted.
Misutzu: I see... That could have happened looking at the state the PDA was in.
Satoru: We decided to ask Kei-cha... I mean, we decided to ask Minami-san to make a recovery program for us, And then managed to recover the data from the PDA with that. As a result of that, we found some text data about someone who was being targetted... There was also some other data...
Misutzu: And what kind of data was that?
- Map (地図), images (写真) or sound (音声). Choosing Map.
Satoru: It was some kind of map data. It was all scattered in pieces.
Misutzu: ...I see. This looks like it's some kind of code but, it's definitely map data.
Satoru: End of report.
Misutzu: Good work. Well then, that's your task co-
Rina: And then we deciphered the code, Misutzu-san!
Misutzu: What did you say?!
Rina: The code's pointing to a certain place which is-
Misutzu: Rina-chan, Satoru-kun... Why did you do such a thing? Your orders were to salvage the data only. It was your duty to report once you had carried out your orders.
Rina: But... When we came to report, you weren't here! We were going to report to you but, we couldn't...
Misutzu: I understand, don't look at me like that... I'll let it pass this time. In return, mail me the next time I'm not around. Here's my e-mail address.
Rina: ...Yes, miss. We'll be careful next time.
Misutzu: By the way, I have follow-up orders for you. Could I count on you two?

- Speak to her about the follow-up orders. She wants you to go report to Inspector Ookouchi at the Police HQ which can be reached through Central Park.
- Go to the GIS Main Room then outside (外に出る). Satoru and Rina will come across Kei who's off to buy some cake for her friends who she's going to analysis UFOs with. Rina wants some too and asks Satoru to buy her some. A mail message suddenly arrives. It's from Misutzu who sent a reminder about what their order is.
- Go to Central Park センターパーク, then to the front entrance of the Police HQ (警視庁前) and finally, the investigation department (捜査一課).
- Check around the office (室内の様子) and Rina will suggest Satoru asks someone. It turns out Mr Alien has gone out and won't be back til night.
- Exit the office and Rina wants to go check the spot marked on the map. Satoru tries to stop her but, can't and gives in. Rina plans to use the excuse that Ookouchi asked them to check it out if Misutzu gets upset again. they go to the marked location.
Rina: This apartment must be the place that was marked on that coded map. ...So does the number "102" point to the room number? This one says "Room No. 102."
Satoru: ...Come on, Rina. You've seen the place now. Lets get back to the Police HQ.
Rina: Wait, Satoru. Why don't we checkout the room since we came all the way out here?
Satoru: ...Which part of the room?
Rina: It's obvious isn't it? We'll go inside to check it out!
Satoru: ...And what if someone's inside? Then what? If Misutzu-san finds out, she'll be mad!
Rina: ...Awww, come on, Satoru. I'll take responsibility!
Satoru: .... (...Guess I have no choice. Once she's said something, she won't listen to anyone...) Fine, fine. We'll just have a little peek...
Rina: Thanks, Satoru.
- Check the electric meter, small window and letter box. Seems no one's around. Check the door (ドア) twice to find that it's unlocked and the two will go inside.
- Check everything and when you check the drawers (タンス), Satoru wonders why the room's so messy. You can choose someone's been going through the place (何者かに荒らされた) or, the resident didn't clean up (住人が片づけなかった). Choose someone must have been searching the place.
- Rina suddenly climbs up onto the table to check for hidden places in the ceiling and asks for a hand from Satoru. Satoru tells her to get down from the table of drawers because it looked like it was going to break. But Rina doesn't listen and it gives way. She gets up, a little hurt. Then she notices something dropped out of the desk. Check the broken desk (壊れた机) to find a flash memory card and they'll take it back to the analysis section to find Muramoto.
- Show Muramoto the flash card and he'll extract the data. He'll then give Rina a copy of it on a blue "disk" and also return the broken PDA. He asks what kind of data was it but Rina tells him it's a secret, part of the mission they were on. Satoru isn't happy about her lying that they're on a GIS mission.
Rina: Hey, Satoru. So what data was on the flash card?
Satoru: Stop rushing me. "The secret's been hidden on the ship." "Inside the ship, there is computer that can't be accessed through a network. That is your next target." "The owner Ooba Noriko, is planning something big and she's about to execute her plan." "Looks like the party will be the day everything will be resolved."
Rina: I wonder what this secret on the ship is.
Satoru: I don't know but, it looks like there's something really important on the computer that's on the ship. ...Who is this Ooba Noriko anyway?
Rina: Now that you mention it... There was a Madam when you were looking for Kei-chan in here. She said, "I'm the famous Ooba Noriko"... So maybe we'll find out who she is if we look up famous people.
- Go on the net and go to personal sites (個人サイト). Scroll down to the second section blogs (ブログ) and find the Rumours of Famous People Blog (有名人のう・わ・さブログ). Tap Rina's icon to find out Noriko's the female president of Ooba Kouzan. Rumour has it that she uses her entire fortune to buy jewellery.
- Go to corporations (企業・団体) and find Ooba Kouzan (大葉興産). Tap the box at the bottom to read the notice about the Night Cruise Party. Tap Rina's icon to learn the party's being held on the Luxury Liner Queen Horizon. It must be what the message was referring to. Just then, Ookouchi arrives and overhears the part about a party. He gets mad thinking that they plan to party without carrying out the orders they were given first. Rina tells him that they have but they couldn't report to him because he wasn't in. Ookouchi takes them to the police HQ to hear their report.
Ookouchi: Well then... Report what data you extracted from the PDA!
- Start reporting to him.
Satoru: We found some coded text data and a map on the PDA.
Ookouchi: Hmmm... Coded data, hmmm...?
Satoru: We then decoded the message and found out the place the map was referring to-
Ookouchi: What?! Why did you... I don't rememer asking you to do such a thing!
Rina: Oh... Well then. That's us reported what data we extracted from the PDA... Excuse us~.
Ookouchi: Hey, wait!! ...Continue.
- Continue about the coded message (暗号について).
Ookouchi: What? Is that true?!
Rina: It's true! We went there to confirm it our-
Ookouchi: You- You two went there...?
Rina: Ye- Yeah... We were passing by.
Ookouchi: Grrr... And then?
Satoru: ...When we arrived at the apartment we found that the door to the room was unlocked.
Ookouchi: It was unlocked hmmm... Don't tell me you two went inside.
Rina: ...Well, we just kind of found ourselves inside all of a sudden and-
Ookouchi: You two! How dare you go that far! All that work should be left to us, police!!
Satoru: ...Sorry.
Rina: Bu- But, Inspector, sir. We found something really big there.
Ookouchi: Wha- What did you find?
Rina: ...You want us to te-
Ookouchi: Tell me now!!

Satoru: We found this flash memory card.
Ookouchi: What's this?!
Rina: It holds data just like a CD. Don't you know?
Ookouchi: ...Never mind that. What data was on it? You two read it, didn't you?
Rina: That's our Inspector! Looks like you know what we're like now.

- Use the blue "disk" to show him the contents. He'll read the message then tell Rina and Satoru to go home. But Rina wants to know more and asks who the data on the card belonged to. At first, Ookouchi refuses but Rina convinces him that he might need Satoru's computer skills. The inspector doesn't seem to be too good with them and can hardly check his e-mail. He goes off to make a call and claims to have got permission from his boss to share the information.
- Speak about the new topic, who the person who had the flash card is.
Satoru: So who does the card belong to...?
Ookouchi: It belonged to an inspector who sneaked into Ooba Kouzan to investigate. We police received information that the president Ooba Noriko... Is planning something big with another criminal organisation. We then carried out our investigation secretly and found out that the Oobas are in contact with the overseas Mafia. However, immediately after the inspector found out that information, he was killed...
Satoru: So that means the data on the PDA and flash memory card was left before he died.
Ookouchi: Ah, that's right. In the end, we couldn't catch who killed him... Even with the PDA in our hands. We had to cut off all contact with him if he was going to go undercover.
Satoru: So... Whoever turned that room upside down, Was the one who killed the inspector. The killer was afraid that the information he had would prove a threat so, He tried to search the place for anything that might be of evidence and killed him in the process.

Now I just have to find the invitee list for the Cruise Party... Ah... Here it is. Now then, if I just open up this folder... A prompt appears. ...It's locked by something.
Rina: Looks like they're pictures of figures split into pieces...

- Log onto the net then go to companies (企業), Ooba Kouzan (大葉興産), tap the yellow news box then the guide to the ship (船内案内). Select the middle ship, Queen Horizon and tap Rina's icon to find out where the rooms are.
- Go into the lounge (ラウンジ) and then inspect the guests (乗船客). The three will overhear where Ooba's room is, Passageway 'A' where her SP will be guarding. Go there and find Ooba's SP blocking the way.
- Go onto the deck (デッキ) and checkout the back staircase (奥の階段). The three will overhear a suspicious man talking a hidden passage behind one of the paintings and something about adding 3 pictures together and subtracting 2 other pictures to get the password.
- Go to the exhibition area (作品展示場). Check the Maria painting (マリア象の絵画) and try checking it (調べてみる). There's a hidden panel behind it.
- Again, you don't have to do this but, if you want to know how I got the password. Log onto the net and go to entertainment (娯楽). Scroll down to the forth section, art (アート) and tap Egaki's Art Gallery (江柿画廊). Tap on the links to find the paintings and you'll notice they all have 4 year digit numbers. 3 of them are paintings of humans and 2 of them are of elephants. So if you add the year of the 3 human paintings then minus the year of the 2 elephant paintings...
- (1968 + 1972 + 2002) - (1994 + 1963) = 5942 - 3957 = 1985. Enter the number to open the secret passage.

- Check the room (地下室内) and Satoru will notice a computer. Check the big machines (巨大な機械) and Ookouchi notices a box. Check the box (箱) to find a box of American dollars. Ookouchi wonders why dollar notes are doing here...
- They stole them (盗んできたから) or, they're printing them here (ここで刷られたから). Select print and he will go onto wonder what Ooba is up to for the day...
- She's going to run away oversea (国外への逃亡) or, business with the Mafia (マフィアとの取引). Choose Mafia and some of the workers will start heading their way...
- Hide and hold your breathe (息をひそめる) or, tell the two to run away (二人で飛びかかる). Choose hide and they'll get away. Return up the passage then head back to the party area (パーティー会場). The three will overhear Ooba's staff looking for her card key. They mention she still had it when she went to the lounge.
- Go to the lounge (ラウンジ). Check the plants (観葉植物) to find Ooba's keycard. Now go to passage A again and the guard will be gone. Use the card you found and the three will go inside. Rina will lean on a door to eavesdrop on a conversation.
Yoshioka:
"Ooba-san?! Are you sure it's all right if we leave those petty criminals to guard the underground facility?"
"If they mess up the controls on the computer, we'll have serious problems."
"There's not much time left until the deal so we won't be able to reprint the notes."
Ooba:
"Don't worry."
"The controls for the printers are networked with this laptop here."
"So I can monitor what's their status form here. I can even directly control the machines."

- Go into the lounge (ラウンジ) and then inspect the guests (乗船客). Rina will recognise the politician's secretary that Ooba was speaking with earlier and Satoru thinks of an idea. Either make use of her business card (名刺を利用する) or, ask the politician to help (政治家に頼む). Choose to use the card and go to the party area (パーティー会場). Once there, use the cards and Rina will go over to the ship's staff, pretending she's the politician's secretary.
Rina:
"...Excuse me. I'm the politician Tamiya Tatsujirou's secretary."
"Tamiya says he wishes to speak to Ooba-sama in person."
"I'm sorry to trouble you but, could you let her know for me?"
Staff:

- If you check the table, you'll find lots of expensive jewels. Log onto the web and go to life (生活). Scroll down to 4th section, shopping (ショッピング) and select Princess of Jewellery, Jew Ely (宝姫 ジュ・エリー). Tap the link at the bottom to find 4 different precious stones in English.
- Enter the password "EMERALD" and then Satoru will find a suspicous program named, "Wall Black". He doesn't know what it is so, e-mail (送信メール) Kei-chan. She replies that she doesn't know but she'll look into it.
- Just then, footsteps are heard. Check the closet (クローゼット) to hide in it.
Ooba:
"What on earth was that all about?"
Rina:
"...That voice. That's Ooba. Lets see what they're up to."
Ooba:
"It was all just a trick saying Tamiya Sensei was asking for me..."
Yoshioka:
"Maam, you have something more important to attend to. The helicopter will be here to collect the notes in one hour."

"Has the printing machines been setup, Yoshioka?"

- There are 4 firewalls to crack. What you have to do tap a square to fire a ball of light. You must hit the moving white squares to successfully crack each firewall. Watch the pattern the white squares move in then, use the ball to destroy some of the spaces that the white square travels to. This will limit their movement and make it easier to hit.
