\^-\-^ONE-OF-A-KIND - METAL FABRICATED^-/-^/ Metroid Prime Nintendo Wii My most labor intensive mod ever! This is a complete Wii Overhaul inspired by the legendary Metroidseries. AutoCAD designed and Hand Cut Metroid Logo Wii Remote with Pulsing Orange LED and Custom Intgreated Recharging Stand!
Details about this one-of-a-kind mod! \^-\-^Color^-/-^/ I used an entirely NEW process for painting this time around with a new professional grade Iwata airbrush . Each color was painstakingly hand-mixed and color matched to achieve Samus's signaturemetallic Varia suit colors of golden orange for the base and intense red for the Wii itself. Each coat was sanded before recoating and then finished off in countless coats of super durable clear coat that left a high gloss wet-look finish! The Wii Remote and Nunchukwere painted using the new process in a deep plasma canon green with the same high gloss finish. The Buttons are custom-made after-market gloss black replacements that are TOP quality and play tested!
The result is truly something special and I am excited to be able to offer it. \^-\-^Electrical ^-/-^/ This has the most elaborate electrical mods of any I have done so far. Specific yellow-green LEDs were installed in the faceplate and base to closely match the color and look of her illuminated visor and shoulder lights. Each LED was sanded, shaped and placed to carefully maintain a dramatic yet subtle look. The Metroid logo is backlit by an array of six ice white LEDs embedded in a sanded acrylic disk. This disperses the light evenly to give the entire logo a halo of emanating white light.. The Wii Remote was modified with a custom internal controller board and a plasma orange LED. This controller board slowly fades the LED in and out much like the lighted effects on her canon. Finally, the four player indicator lights at the bottom of the Wii Remote were also changed from blue togreen. In total 15 LED's were used and, as always, since these are "always-on" LED's the voltage was calibrated so as not to be either overbearing
or too dim. \^-\-^ Special Features ^-/-^/ The main feature of the this mod is the custom-made metal Metroid logo! Using the concept art, the logo was first drafted and scaled on PC using AutoCAD and Solidworks. With help of a friend who has many years of metal fabrication experience the logo was hand cut, milled, routed, beveled and brushed using two pieces of 1/4 inch solid aluminum. This part alone took over 12 hours complete. It was carefully hand painted and airbrushed to match the logo art. The base plate was clear coated while the lightening bolt remains brushed just like the real logo! PLEASE NOTE in order to achieve the high detailed and clean look of the logo the tips of the lighting bolt were left somewhat "sharp" and care should be taken when handling the unit just to be safe side. The Wii stand has an concealed battery changer for recharing after a long day of Metroid! Two rechargeable AA's will be included. The opposite side holsters the Wii Remote to carry on the overall look of her Varia suit. The white cable between the Wii Remote and Nunchukhas been sheathed with a dark sliver wire sleeve to conceal the original color. This was also done to the USB cable that delievers power to the stand. I am an experenced modder with years of small electronics experience. The Wii is in perfect working condition and looks as if you bought it this way. I am happy to answer any questions day or night and I receive all my email via blackberry too so my response time is minimal! :) As always a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Penny-Arcade.com's "Child's Play" Children's hospital charity! http://www.childsplaycharity.org/ NOW, on to the pictures!!
