Modal Kombat is a live instrument battle channeled through the video game Mortal Kombat. Audio from two classical guitars controls movements of characters in Mortal Kombat Trilogy- acoustic-electric instruments have replaced the typical video game controller. David Hindman has developed unique means of mapping pitch, pitch sequences, and volume to corresponding actions of a video game character. In the case of Modal Kombat, pitch information corresponds to actions of the fighter, creating a mix between creative choreography and intense competition. David Hindman teamed up with fellow guitarist Evan Drummond to deliver the ultimate in modern guitar performance and public video game competition. The result, Modal Kombat, is a modern-day “dueling banjos”. It has raised the bar for performers, composers, interface designers, and competitive gamers. Modal Kombat delivers an engaging combination of music, choreography and good old-fashioned fantasy street fighting.

After Gerstmann’s savage flogging of Kane & Lynch, a game whose marketing investment on Gamespot alone reached into the hundreds of thousands, Eidos (we are told) pulled hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of future advertising from the site.

“We ask your consideration of whether it is time to review the robustness, reliability and repeatability of your ratings process, particularly for this genre of ‘ultraviolent’ video games and the advances in game controllers,” the senators wrote. “We have consistently urged parents to pay attention to the ESRB rating system. We must ensure that parents can rely on the consistency and accuracy of those ratings.”

Ubisoft Suing SomethingAwful For Jade Porn Comic

I can understand the comic is offensive but it wasn’t even posted by the staff and was removed quite quickly.

Basically Ubisoft is threatening to sue me because somebody here posted an offsite link to a comic somebody else drew, and the comic featured a cartoon version of somebody sucking many dicks. I don’t know where this image is located, I do not know who drew it, and the only vague connection to this site is because somebody posted a link to it on these forums.
