In this great shot from the stands you can see the marching band create Tetris blocks, Zelda triforce, and even Pokemon balls. See if you can tell all the games they represent as there’s quite a few. The topping on the cake is that they play music from the games as they do the formations. What a great tribute to video games!

As far as performances, that definitely wasn’t the best i’ve seen, but that is one HELL of a show! Lucky bastards!

Tetris
Mortal Kombat
Pokemon
Zelda Triforce
Super Mario Brothers

For a college band, that was fairly entertaining. Nowhere near velvet knights or bridgemen, but still pretty fun! It’d be great to hear it from the front stands.

Finally, all those weeks of these guys practicing in front of my dorm pays off. Great job Cal band…. now please move rehearsal somewhere else.
